A good friend ofdonated a number of items to be recycled. She also ordered a bag, and after a consultation about what she liked, left the finer design details to.

Always wanting to make the customer happy, the bag was started bright and early the next day after carefully selecting a pair of jeans from her donation. Wasting no time, the scissors swiftly cut up the jeans, and the bag began to take shape. The following day the phone rang and I was very happy to hear my friend on the line, eager to report progress of the bag. After cheerful greetings the conversation went a little like this.......
"I don't suppose you've started making any bags from the jeans I donated?"
"yes, your bag, why, something wrong" I knew....
"which ones have you used"
"oh no, why" even more sure I knew....
"I went to put on my new favourite jeans and.........."
"they don't happen to be the dark denim jeans do they?" yup, I knew, they had to be, Murphy's law says so, they were the only ones now in pieces on the floor......
"yes" came the reply.

We laughed and wept for the jeans, and I continued to make the bag. The design now inspired by the mistake. Sewn into the design were two text panels
"in loving memory of my favourite pair of jeans" and "rest in pieces"
Another pair of jeans were purchased by my friend, which now have a matching, much loved bag

The moral of this story......If you are sending an item to be transformed into your own one-of-a-kind handmade bag, or just making a donation, please make sure you send the right item......
